Multiple Small Producers
Caturra, Catuai, Bourbon, Typica, Pache. Grown 1300-1800 masl.
Chontali is situated in the forested mountains that surround the Chunchucas river valley. Coffee cultivation started here in the 1950s, and continues to grow and blossom thanks to naturally high elevation and outstanding soil quality. Chonta takes its name from the spiny palms that grow prolifically in the region and shelter many farms. Thirteen producers contribute to this lot, and each one has an average of 2-3 hectares planted with coffee. With its delicate candied lemon acidity and round sweetness, we are pleased to offer Chonta as our first offering from Peru!
