Kateshi and Isanya Estates, Producers
Grown at 1300-1500 masl.

Please note this is a naturally processed coffee, so the fruit notes will be pronounced.

The Mafinga Hills in Zambia's Northern Province are home to the country's highest peaks, where altitude and volcanic soil create the ideal conditions for specialty coffee. Over the past few years, the Kateshi and Isanya Estates have been producing what may currently be the leading coffees from this part of the world. Though wet milling was introduced to the small holders of Mafinga thirty years ago, natural processing has been common throughout the region since commercial production began in the 1950s.

Zambia is famous for Victoria Falls, also known locally as "the smoke that thunders." The falls run into the Zambesi river, an area rich in biodiversity that is home to the world's largest concentration of hippos. As the river approaches Mozambique, it joins with the Luangwa River. As the Luangwa meanders and the altitude rises, you will reach Mafinga plateau, Zambia's largest coffee growing region which stretches all the way to the border with Tanzania.
